The Crown Singers are a small choir based in central southern Oxfordshire. We enjoy exploring an extensive repertoire written for a few voices per part – ranging from Madrigals from the 15th century, through partsongs of the 19th and 20th centuries and selected sacred music to newly composed pieces. Much of our repertoire is unaccompanied, and our rehearsals offer the opportunity to develop your skills in ensemble singing.
We perform two or three concerts a year, often in partnership with local instrumental groups. We rehearse in Grove on alternate Monday evenings. Our musical director is Paul Hedley
At present we are particularly seeking additional tenors, but we are always interested to consider keen new singers in any voice.
We do not hold formal auditions, but encourage interested singers of a reasonable standard to join us for one or two rehearsals for informal mutual assessment.
